De literaire kattenkalender 5.

Ik weet 't niet, 't is
niet in de haak.
Heb ik dat niet ooit
gelezen?

 Vader drinkt
en moe gaat slaan.
Het huwelijk
is naar de maan....

Niks nieuws onder
de zon alsnog.
Ik las het al,
dat zei ik toch!
(Elke Heidenreich)

I don't know,
it's not acceptable.
Didn't I read this
before?

Father drinks
and mother wants to hit.
This marriage
is over...

This is nothing
new.
I read it before,
I told you so!
(Elke Heidenreich)

Haaktante - Aunt Crochet.

We just got the message that a baby-boy has been born in the family. This means I can blog these pictures now because some of the items are presents: a blanket for the baby-boy and two adorable mice for his sister.
The baret was a try-out and it's so easy to make that I can do it in an hour or so.

'Vis'
is zijn lievelingskostje
en dat is vast en zeker zo
omdat hij instinctief weet
wat zijn lijfje nodig heeft.
Maar hoezo instinct?
Hier spreekt
een volstrekt gezond verstand
dat begrijpt wat goed
voor je is en wat
'kwaliteit'
inhoudt

Fish
is his favourite food
and it's like this
because he instinctively knows
what his body needs.
But what's instinct?
It's just common sense
that understands what's good
for you and what quality
means.

In the Netherlands cats don't speak exactly the same language as their
British congeners. When I come home, I will tell you how they talk.

Wallace & Gromit.

I am a huge fan of all animated films. Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Studio Ghibli, but also puppet movies like The Muppets, The Dark Cristal and Labyrinth. I discovered stop-motion pictures with Jason and the Argonauts and everybody now knows the claymation pictures of Aardman: Chicken Run and the world of Wallace and Gromit.

So when a boardgame is released of this duo it ends underneath the christmas tree as a present. That's for sure.
The game is simple: sheep are stolen in the village and all sheep are now hiding in the village. It's up to you to find the sheep and take as many as possible to your safe home.
You can play like Wallace, Gromit, Shaun the sheep, Preston the dog, Wendolene or Feathers McGraw the pinguin.

The board covers the entire village. All the important places from the movies are used as base. The sheep are hidden in the houses around the Village Green. By opening the houses you may take a number of sheep to your home. Each sheep has a value and it's that value that will be important at the end of the game. The highest value of sheep shows the winner, not the amount of sheep.

There is 1 important rule: use your whistle before rolling the die, because sheep only follow the whistle not the player. Whoever leaves without whistling will leave alone because his/her sheep won't move.

Like every boardgame you can also annoy your co-players by stealing their sheep.

So, this is a game for all ages. It's easy to learn and easy to set up. The perfect game for everyone.

onbekende mogendheid.
(Jan Morris).

My cats are suspicious.
I don't trust them completely -
it would even be possible that they are, just like dolphins
spies reporting to an unknown power.

(Hilmar Klute)

We would like cats to tell us how their
world looks like....could they tell us
with velvety soft tones how it's like to wander around
our cities at night, and what they dream when they fall
asleep about 233 times a day.
(Hilmar Klute)
