Schaapjes haken - Sheepish crochet

In mijn collectie haakboeken zitten er nog een paar waar ik nog niet veel uit gehaakt heb.
Er is echter 1 boekje waaruit ik graag patronen haal.

Het zijn hele leuke om te haken en het resultaat mag er altijd zijn.
De rat heb ik in een vorige post al eens getoond.

Het leukste aan deze patronen is eigenlijk dat het grote amigurumi zijn.
Amigurumi zijn in het rond gehaakte of gebreide figuurtjes. Meestal zijn het hele kleine figuurtjes die met een fijne naald en fijne katoen gemaakt worden.
Wie heel graag amigurumi haakt, maar eigenlijk ook altijd moeite heeft met het mini-formaat zal met deze patronen zijn hart kunnen ophalen.

Afhankelijk van het gebruikte katoen zijn natuurlijk alle amigurumi groot of klein, maar deze zijn toch wel heel groot.
Ik gebruik liefst katoen/wol voor haaknaald 3 of 4. Met deze maat worden de patronen uit dit boekje makkelijk 20 cm hoog.
Echte knuffels dus en niet van die ieniemienie amigurumi-poppetjes.

De pluizige wol heb ik per toeval gevonden. Het is echter perfect voor dit schaapje en voor andere pluizige diertjes dus binnenkort sla ik een voorraad in.
Pluizige wol is wel wat lastig om te haken. Je gebruikt best een grotere haaknaald en eigenlijk zie je je steken niet meer. Het komt er dus op neer om op goed geluk te haken, maar wel altijd goed te tellen hoeveel steken je haakt zodat het patroon nog klopt.

Ik ben heel erg blij met het resultaat!



In my collection of crochet books there are some that I haven't used a lot. There is, however, one booklet I like. The patterns are very cute and they're fun to crochet.
One of them I already showed you in a previous post: the rat.

The reason I like these pattern so much is that they are big amigurumi. I like making amigurumi but usually they are really small and I always have troubles with very small figures.
So these animal-patterns are really good for people who like amigurumi but who want them bigger without using yarn that is too thick.

For this sheep I used a crochet hook of 4. The woolly parts are made with a hook 6. Even with a hook 4 the muzzle of this sheep is longer than 5cm! The result of this pattern is a nice and big cuddly animal and not a miniature amigurumi.

I found the fuzzy wool by accident but it's perfect for this sheep. I already went back to the shop to buy some more of this wool in different colours.
It's more difficult to use so you need a large crochet hook. I found it difficult to retrieve all my stitches so in the end I just crocheted a bit blindly. But you have to count your stiches to make sure the pattern is correct.

I'm very happy with the result!
